Following on for the popularity of the visits to Shropshire Archives in 2023, the CCA team booked two further visits to the Archives in January 2024!
Those of us who were fortunate enough to attend these visits soon discovered why they were so popular.
Each visit included a presentation by the very knowledgeable Archive team on the wide range of services provided by the archives, which included conservation services, research, historical documents and a lot more besides.
We were taken on a tour into the building basement to learn about how they protect and manage their several miles of documents! We were able to see documents dating back to 800AD and to view historic maps and books relating to local customs and practices.
All in all, it was an amazing opportunity to quiz the very knowledgeable team. This is an excellent resource for WIs wishing to look into their own unique history.
